2022 Pinot Noir - under Organic conversion

Medium full body, strawberry & dark plum with some tantalising herbal notes,  aromatic with nice soft tannins .... very drinkable! - BV

Winery Notes:

"Pinot Noir makes up over 70% of the red wine varieties planted in New Zealand. Marlborough's soil quality, cool climate and low rainfall make it an ideal wine region for Pinot Noir.
Kimura Cellars' Pinot Noir is a wine with an elegant taste that harmonises sweet fruits such as raspberries and strawberries with red flowers and nuances of oak barrel flavour, and has a fine and elegant astringency."

KIMURA CELLARS is one of the smallest boutique producers in Marlborough.
A small family owned company run by a Japanese couple, winemaker Shigehisa (Shige) Kimura and his wife Mieko who have owned the vineyard since 2018.

They make artisan wines which show a true reflection of its place by paying a lot of attention to detail in the grape growing and winemaking.

Their philosophy for their vineyard is that they use no herbicide, no insecticide and no pesticides. Since 2022, they are now BioGro Organic certified.

They make premium wines from grapes which are grown with respect of sustainability of land and overall ecosystem.

The wine label of KIMURA CELLARS represents a Koru with a cherry blossom motif. The cherry blossom is a symbol of Japan just as a Koru is a symbol of NZ.
The meaning of the Koru on the design of the label represents “harmony” between New Zealand and Japan as it is made by a Japanese winemaker in New Zealand, and also “New start”and “Growth” to KIMURA CELLARS.
