Ochota Barrels Weird Berries in the Woods Gewurztraminer 2018 750ml
11.8% alc.
Adelaide Hills
Handpicked mid February . Destemmed then 2 days on skins (6 half tonne lots). Pressed with full solids to seasoned French barriques. Indigenous yeast fermentation. Weekly batonnage for 8 weeks. Carefully gravity racked.
Lychee, tangello blossom, lavender, miya lemon and manuka honey can be detected far from the glass.
A rose petal infused lemongrass entry followed by chalky, mandarin skinned texture, forming a foundation for the jasmine and ginger infused nervy acid line which finishes long and bright.

94 Points - James Suckling
14 May, 2019 – "The reductive elements of flint and matchstick give a savory edge to this wine, before apple curd, dried citrus and herbs come into view. A very edgy gewurz that’s medium-bodied with tons of freshly squeezed lemons and mineral play. The forthright acidity drives it through to a crunchy, medium-long finish. Drink now."
