Pierre Peters Champagne Rose For Albane NV Brut 750ml

Regular price

Notes from the Winemaker:
An innovation and small revolution for our family house which produced exclusively Blancs de Blancs Champagnes prior to 2007, this Cuvée is a blend of Chardonnay from Le Mesnil and a wonderful "Rosé de Saignée" giving birth to a Rosé Champagne in keeping with the Pierre Peters style: full of freshness, purity and elegance.

Tasting Notes:
The robe is clear, with a very frank pink color. The mousse is fine and regular with a pretty ribbon of bubbles.
The Nose:
Delicate, it expresses the full palette of fresh red fruit (strawberry, raspberry and gooseberry) and floral aromas; the notes of citrus, (pink grapefruit and pomelo) follow bringing a beautiful impression of smoothness and freshness.

The first impression is dominated with red fruit, followed by creamy notes. Persistant on the palate are the citrus notes, grapefruit and blood oranges with the perfect dosage that highlight the vibrant fruit flavors but do not mask the chalky minerality of Le Mesnil Chardonnay that emerges with vigor on the finish.

Dosage : 7 to 8 g / L

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - James Suckling:
"A fascinating rosé delivered in a playful, strident pink format, it has all the fine red fruits and fragrant rose-like perfume you could wish for. Alluring sherbet-like creamy texture and fresh strawberry and raspberry fruit flavors that hold long. Drink now." - (July 10, 2015)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The NV Rosé for Albane Brut is a blend of 55% Le Mesnil Grand Cru Chardonnay and 45% saignée de Meunier from Cumières that fermented in stainless steel. This is based on 2012 and was disgorged in December 2015 with a dosage of 7.3 grams. Dressed in lovely pink, this is a beautifully clear and fresh-flavored Rosé with delicate cherry flavors, along with floral notes. Very pure, round and fresh on the palate, this Champagne has delicate fruit, and stimulating grip and tension in the finish. This is a delicious Rosé with very good ageing potential." - Stephan Reinhardt (29th Jun 2016)

91 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The NV Brut Rosé For Albanne is gracious, weightless and airy, with expressive scents of crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, mint and cranberry. Pale in color and delicate, the NV Brut Rosé For Albanne is all about understatement. The brisk, refreshing finish only adds to the wine's considerable near and medium term appeal. The current release is 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Meunier, based on 2013, with the addition of 18% reserve wines. Dosage is 7.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2016." - Antonio Galloni (Dec 2016)

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This minerally rosé is light-footed and lithe, with a delicate range of dried white cherry, pink grapefruit zest, spring blossom and slivered almond flavors. Spice and saline notes play on the crisp finish. Drink now through 2019. 30 cases imported." – AN (Web Only - 2016)
