Wine Making
Our Reserve Pinot Gris is made from the finest parcels of fruit from our 2015 harvest. The vineyards delivered nice, ripe fruit with excellent varietal intensity. Once pressed, the juice was fermented in a selection of old oak barrels and stainless steel. A selection of different yeasts allowed both textural qualities to develop in some components and to retain the crisp fruit flavours from the vineyard in others. The resulting wine captures and showcases some of the diverse varietal flavours found in Marlborough’s unique sub-regions.
Winemakers Tasting Note
Our Reserve Pinot Gris represents the finest quality from Marlborough. Our 2015 Marlborough Pinot Gris is powerful yet balanced and charming. Aromas of nectarine and apricot are underscored by an attractive honeysuckle note. Our Reserve Pinot Gris is soft and textural, with delicious Pear, Nashi apple and Nectarine flavours which linger through to a crisp, refreshing finish.
