A strikingly floral nose of crushed petals and stems sets the tone, layered with garrigue, Nordic forest undergrowth, damson, pain d’épice and subtle peaty notes. There is a compelling rusticity to the wine, balanced by a delicate, sappy quality that carries through the taut, compact and finely textured palate. Tarry redcurrant and savoury, gently meaty notes add depth, while a persistent medicinal character lends further intrigue. Long, savoury and quietly complex, the wine continues to evolve in the glass, revealing greater aromatic depth and flamboyance with time.
