Return Policy

Returns Policy

At The Village Winery, we take care in selecting, storing and packing every bottle we sell. We want you to enjoy your purchase with complete confidence. If there is a problem with your order, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve it promptly.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or you have received the wrong wine, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

To assist us in resolving the issue quickly, please include:

• your order number;
• a description of the problem; and
• photographs of the damaged packaging and/or bottles where applicable.

If damage has occurred during transit, we will arrange an appropriate replacement, store credit or refund.

Faulty Wine

Wine is a natural product and, on rare occasions, a bottle may be affected by a fault such as cork taint, or premature oxidation.

If you believe a wine is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible after opening the bottle. We may ask you to:

• retain the bottle and any remaining wine;
• provide photographs of the bottle, cork or closure; and
• return the bottle for assessment where necessary.

If a genuine fault is confirmed, we will offer a replacement (subject to availability), store credit or a refund.

Please note that personal taste, style preferences, vintage variation, bottle age, or differences between vintages do not constitute a fault.

Limited Release & Rare Wines

The wines we offer are produced in limited quantities and may sell out quickly. Where a replacement bottle is unavailable, we will instead offer a refund or store credit for the purchase price.

Change of Mind

As wine is a perishable consumable product, we do not generally accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind.

At our discretion, we may accept returns of unopened bottles that are in their original condition. Any request must be made before returning the wine, and return freight costs are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed.

Storage & Care

Our wines are stored under appropriate conditions prior to dispatch. Once your order has been delivered, responsibility for the wine passes to you.

We cannot accept responsibility for damage or deterioration resulting from:

• improper storage after delivery;
• exposure to excessive heat or freezing temperatures;
• delays in collecting parcels from courier depots; or
• damage caused after delivery.

For best results, we recommend storing wine in a cool, stable environment away from direct sunlight.

Consumer Guarantees Act

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other applicable New Zealand consumer protection legislation. Where a product fails to meet the guarantees provided by law, you are entitled to the remedies available under that legislation.
